What to Expect
Welcome to Christ Presbyterian Church!
Here are some FAQ’s you may find helpful:
What time is your worship service and when should I arrive?
Our Worship Service is every Sunday morning at 10:15 a.m. We have coffee and refreshments available at 10:00 if you would like to arrive early!
What is the worship experience like?
You can expect our service to include passionate music, prayer, scripture readings and a relevant, Christ-centered message from God’s Word. The service lasts approximately an hour and 15 minutes.
We’re contemporary, but we don’t ignore historical aspects. Our full praise and worship band leads us in singing both new and current songs right along with timeless and traditional hymns.
How often do you have Communion?
We celebrate Communion together every Sunday morning. Communion is served as you come forward to the front. If you are unable to walk forward, we will gladly bring it to you. (We use Gluten-free bread)
What do I wear?
Most people dress casually, but some prefer to wear more “business casual.” Come in what is most comfortable to you. We’re just happy to have you as our guest!
What about my kids?
Children of all ages can come on a Sunday morning and learn about Jesus. All of our volunteers in the children’s ministry are trained and have a completed, cleared background screen. Our children’s program has a secure child check-in and guardian notification process in place. The following is an outline of our schedule:
9:00 - 10:00 a.m.
Do you have a youth ministry?
Of course we do! Our students, grades 6 through 12, meet weekly together in the Youth Building on Sunday evenings from 4:00-5:45 p.m. We fellowship together, worship, and learn from God's Word about his amazing grace and mercy, and how to grow into the full stature of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We seek to grow a student-led ministry, one that serves our church community (especially our kid's ministry!), as well as one that reaches out to our wider community with the gospel of Jesus Christ. If you have any questions at all or would like to learn more about Youth Ministry here at CPC, please do not hesitate to contact our Associate Pastor, Chad Tvenstrup at chad@emphasisonChrist.org or 401-465-5618.
Do you have classes for adults?
Yes, the Adult Class is held every Sunday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. January - May and August - December. This is an interactive class led by an experienced, gifted teacher who is passionate about the Word of God. Everyone welcome any time! Check it out!
What about groups or studies other than Sunday mornings?
In addition to Sunday mornings, you can enjoy close fellowship in our Community Groups. We have various studies, locations, times and days of the week that we meet so you can find one that works best for you.
Do you have Corporate Prayer?
Yes, we have both monthly and weekly opportunities for the saints to gather and pray together.
Still have questions? Contact the church office at connect@emphasisonChrist.org. We’ll be happy to help you further!
We look forward to seeing you soon!
