How marvelous, how amazing, are You, Savior Jesus!
We sing to You songs of thanksgiving, Gracious God!
Beautiful Lord, Creator of the universe! We love You!
O Lord of Grace, your Love is Perfect and Constant!
Your Love and Holiness are seen in all your blessings!
Guide our intentions to your honor, will, and purpose!
Enable us to follow You in the most difficult of times!
Your Word leads our open hearts, minds and actions –
to share your love, reflect your grace, do as you would
do, reach out to the sick, broken, hungry, and empty.
Blessed is the Lord our God, Redeemer, the One!
We praise your Name above the heavens and earth!
May all Your children, Savior Jesus, bow before You;
Seeking You in the minutes, praising You continually!

Simple Obedience

March 2 2016 – by Tony Hayden

Matthew 9:9-13 says: As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him. While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what it mean: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Matthew’s purpose in his Gospel was to show how Jesus fulfilled God’s promises found in the Old Testament by offering a new way of life. Earlier in this chapter, Jesus healed a man and engaged in an ongoing confrontation with the Pharisees, who refused to recognize his authority and power.

In these verses, Matthew described his first encounter with Jesus. Matthew served as a tax collector for the Roman government; this meant the Jews hated him. Jesus, however, responded to Matthew by giving him a new purpose for his life, to follow Jesus. Matthew had a choice: to follow Jesus or not.

We have the same choice today. Simply, we can follow God’s plan for us through the Holy Spirit’s urging. Like Matthew, will we hear his voice and respond to God’s call? It is the best decision you can ever make in your life. I am glad that I made that decision many years ago.
In closing let us say the following prayer: “Father, thank you for calling me to follow you. Help me to respond in simple obedience to life that is more than I can imagine, that is better than I could every hope for.”cross silhouette on mountain with ray sunset sky.

O blessed Savior Jesus, what joy You are!
You are wonderful, pure, holy, full of grace!
O Savior what peace you bring in the moments!
Your Glory fills heaven, your light everywhere!
Your Word, O God in heaven, talks of your glory!
As the heavens declare your glory, O Beloved Lord,
may we sing praises to you throughout each day!
To your honor, to your praise, O holy, holy, holy One!
Songs of love, songs of worship, song of our devotion,
to the Living, Majestic, Redeemer, God of the universe!
We bow low in homage to Savior Jesus for your grace,
freedom, gentleness, and your peace above all peace!
Blessed Jesus, thank you for your presence in us,
through the Holy Spirit for all who in faith believe
in You as their Eternal Savior! Thank you O Holy One!

What am I as a Christian

February 24 2016 – by Wayne Metcalf

We as Christians are called to be an example in this world. We are called to break through the barriers and be a voice … a real human voice that can be a light of compassion and a word of encouragement that seems so scarce today. We are to be bold for the Lord and bring the good news of salvation. We are to be His mouth piece here on earth and an example of His Goodness. When we realize who we are in Christ and who He is in us, we will start walking and living in victory. Here is what the Bible says that I am:
1. I am the salt of the earth (Matt. 5:13)
2. I am the light of the world (Matt. 5:14-16)
3. I am a kingdom seeker (Matt. 6:33)
4. I am a prayer warrior (Matt. 7:7-8)
5. I am a mighty witness (Matt. 28:19-20, Acts 1:8)
6. I am a child of God (John 1:12)
7. I am chosen by Christ (John 15:16)
8. I am a son of God (Rom. 8:14-15)
9. I am the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 3:16, 6:19)
10. I am a part of the body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:27)
11. I am an ambassador for Christ (2 Cor. 5:20)
12. I am a saint (Eph. 1:1)
13. I am God’s workmanship (Eph. 2:10)
14. I am a citizen of heaven (Phil. 3:20)
15. I am an enemy of the devil (1 Pet. 5:8)
16. I am victorious in Christ (Eph. 6:10-18)
17. I am greater than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4)
18. I am born of God and have overcome the world (1 John 5:4)

I challenge you (and myself) to live in boldness for God. Let’s ask Him to put someone in our path today that needs to hear an encouraging word of hope. Be a blessing where ever we go and start viewing ourselves in Christ daily and watch the victories come!

We sing praises of joy to Christ Jesus our Savior!
He is the Redeemer of all mankind for their sin!
Our hearts of love are lifted high to Holy Jesus!
May we honor Him each moment of the day:
Seek Him! Yield our hearts completely to Him!
In delight we share Jesus’ story to all we meet!
Jesus loved us and gave His life on a cross,
that we might live eternally for belief in Him!
Sinners we are! Seek Jesus to know eternity!
The Word of God tells this love story to us!
What love was this? What pain it cost him?
The world never knew such perfect love!
We sing songs of love and joy for Jesus!
